Over the past few years, several retired defence chiefs and service chiefs in Southeast Asia have been gathering regularly, taking turns to host each other and keeping up with the spirit of camaraderie that they have known during their professional military lives. The informal grouping of these influential figures has come to be known as The Pinnacle Club of Asean. While the Club was formalised in early 2014, its future direction has not changed from its initial purpose: to provide a social platform for the gathering of retired defence chiefs and other influential officials related to the security and defence of the region. Currently, the Pinnacle Club has around 70 members from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The Pinnacle Club and its network of members can also serve to promote the good relations in Southeast Asia through the various activities organized by the Secretariat, Stratagem Group.
